Abstract

This study aimed to carry out a brief analytical survey of the origin and evolution of educational systems in the European Union, from the point of view of the recognition of educational rights and the spaces for opening up social participation in education, taking into account the principles and criteria of the legal regulatory framework for education in the respective countries, the establishment of school, municipal or state councils in which the right of parents and citizens interested in the development of education to participate in decisions related to the government and operation of schools is recognized, as well as its implications for general educational development policies.
