Administrative knowledge in Mexico: Delay and progress

Abstract
The dispute between the theory and practice of administration is very old. Practitioners, including businesspeople, often complain with ideas like the following:
[. . .] there is a chasm between those who study administration and those who practice it. We [businesspeople, managers, administrators] act out of tradition and custom, intuition and whim, and most of the time with urgency. None of this has any correlation with the fine theoretical concepts you use [. . .] You [theorists and academics] have time to search for the ideal, while we spend our time answering calls, signing papers, haggling over prices, and arguing with employees. What is strategic, systematic, or motivational about this?
