Proposal of a functional form to describe the market-technical evolution of henequen in Mexico

Abstract

This study employs a bell-shaped model, which has been reported by homeopathic physicians*, in an attempt to find an application to Econometrics. The model in question is a bell-shaped model, but of a potential nature ( ) and not exponential (2) (3). The model mentioned in the previous paragraph was applied to observed data from the henequen market in MexicoC?) (3) from 60 years to the present. It has been shown that it describes these data at a very good statistical level and that it postulates that the henequen produced in the Mexican Republic tends to become asymptotic and remain stable at 100,000 tons per year.
