Abstract

The Mexican economy is in a spin, and this year, 1982, the predictions are alarming. Consequently, business inventories may remain on shelves longer than usual, and customers may take longer than expected to settle their debts. Such situations may mean that businesses may decide it is necessary to increase their bank credit lines at a time of extremely high interest rates, resulting in a serious decrease in profits or a loss in operating costs.
