TOWARDS A BETTER RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE UNIVERSITY AND THE PRODUCTIVE SECTOR IN LATIN AMERICA

Abstract
Much has been written and debated about the "mission of the university" and its basic functions and tasks. These ideas stem from the different conceptualizations of this institution, which in turn determine its specific role. It is not our intention here to initiate a debate on this issue; we simply want to highlight that, in broad terms, there seems to be consensus on three responsibilities that are inherent to the university.
