Abstract

There are mathematical systems for estimating subjective probability and using it instead of traditional ("conventional") assessments, described in the journal "Chemical Engineering." They begin by formulating a function of the distribution of opinions (based on variations in the opinion induct) that takes the form of a Gaussian bell curve, and the degree of belief is expressed by the area between this curve and the x-axis, where the range of variation is indicated.
