METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES IN EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH

Abstract

This paper tries to present the main aspects related to research methodology, emphasising some of types suitable for education. The main purpose is to offer some aspects which characterised the types of research identified in this field, as a starting point for those who beginning to do research. Therefore, the content is divided into three parts, the first reviews some changes present in the contemporary world; the second is concern to the characteristics of the natural and social sciences, and from here to the quantitative and qualitative approaches of research. The last part refers to the main characteristics of the six research types chosen to be included here.
